Pilbara Ningaui

Found in the Pilbara such as the Hamersley Ranges in hummock grasslands.

The body length is 45-58mm
Tail length is approx 60-76mm long
Weight is approx 5.0-9.4 grams

The young are rather slow maturing compared to some other marsupials and the mother carries the babies around on her nipples for the first 60 days and then on her back for another 43 days so you could be lucky enough to see a mum carrying her offspring around.

They may occasionally be active during the day.

There are three species of Ningaui

 What does it eat? 

This is a marsupial that hunts centipedes, trapdoor spiders and cockroaches that are larger than itself.
