Like us a bat has 7 neck bones.
The bats neck bones are far more flexible than ours though. Some
bats can arch their necks to look behind them. This helps them to
look around and eat while hanging upside down.
This bat is approx 69mm in total length. It roosts in tree hollows and buildings throughout Australia. Even if you find bat poo on the ground of an abandoned building or in a tree hollow you will need to determine if it is fresh or not as some bats have a winter home and a summer home and it would be pointless waiting hours for a bat to return at sunrise if it is visiting its other home which could be hundreds of kilometres away. |

BAT SCATS |
Come back soon to see our video of this bat that was in captivity as it crashed into my car, it made a full recovery and was later released that night. |
