Bynoe's Gecko Heteronotia binoei

This gecko has tubercles (raised bumps) on its back and tail.
In Western Australia it is found throughout the state in sub-humid and arid habitats except for the south-west and southern coastal areas.

 

They shelter beneath rocks or vegetation. 

It varies in colour from pale yellow to reddish/brown to almost black.  There may be bands of colour.

This Bynoe's gecko was photographed at Cape Range National Park/Ningaloo, Exmouth, WA.  It ran fairly fast across the dirt road at around 10pm.

 

They can be abundant in numbers in some areas.

 

 What does it eat? 

It forages for arthropods
