Lane Poole Reserve

100km south of Perth on the South West Hwy just south of Dwellingup in a Jarrah forest on the Murry river near the Darling Scarp is the Lane Poole Reserve of 55,000 hectares

This is a large area and combines bushwalking, cycling, canoeing and camping or you can do day trips from Perth.

I have seen various reptiles, variegated wrens, rainbow bee eaters, white-tailed black cockatoo's, emu and 3 chicks, bats on sunset, motorbike frogs, frogs eggs in the rock pools, a small marsupial, marcropods and insects such as dragonflies, a large centipede

This is a King Jarrah it is 47metres high and 7.5 metres around (girth)

This is a King Skink seen basking on these warm rocks in October.
