Lake Leschenaultia

On Rosedale Rd near Great Eastern Hwy Chidlow

It is a good size lake to walk around, you can camp if you make prior arrangements, cycle and canoe hire. There are good views to the lake and plenty of bush trails to walk.  I found there were a lot of ants on the walk trail which made the walk a little unpleasant. As I went in August I also saw different types of fungi and Red tail black cockatoo's.

I revisited here late one night in July.  The gates shut at 4.30 but you can still walk in.  I heard lots of frogs including the Banjo frog, Glauret's or Clicking frog and the Squelching frog.  I also heard the White Striped Mastife bat and the Boobook owl.  If you would like to see more photos of frogs from around Western Australia check out our section on freaky frogs.
