Jarradale old growth forest in July. This fungi was accidentally found when I stopped to look at a toadstool. |
These fungi were buried about 4cm below leaf litter up against a log. The whole group measured 40cm wide, each smaller cluster measured 5cmwide. |
This is a close up. The fungi was tough and hard to squeeze. |
This is how the fungi was attached under ground. I wasn't able to see if they were attached to the log. I found another small piece of this fungi in this state forest but it had been dug up and eaten or removed. |

Pink false truffle. Found at Star Swamp Reserve in Waterman Perth in July. It was collected and identified by a licensed collector as we were attending a fungi seminar. Below is another group of truffles found at the same reserve but were not identified. |

In darker lighting conditions we sometimes have to use a torch to photograph which can alter the colour of the fungi slightly. |
