Wotjulum Frog
Litoria wotjulumensis

This frog was seen at Froghole Gorge in the Bungle Bungles in August.  We think it is the Wotjulum frog but we don't collect frog specimens so exact identification is difficult.  It was keeping company with the Rockhole Frog, Go Here to see our page on this frog.

The Wotjulum female frog is approx 45-70mm from snout to vent, males are smaller approx 33-38mm long.

In Western Australia they are found in the Kimberley south to Yampi Peninsula, Noonkanbah and the Bungle Bungles.

These frogs were living in a static pool of water at the base of this waterfall.

This area would flood in the wet season rising the pool level, in the dry season when we were there the pool was drying out.

The fingers are unwebbed and toes webbed all with discs.

We didn't find this frog to be active or calling as it was day when we saw it.  It was willing to sit in our hand.

Here you can see the long legs as this frog hangs out in the local pool.

It was fairly dark in here due to not much sunlight, the perfect place to live if your a frog, cool, shady and wet.
